My first show of the year is at the Chatham Grill right before you hit the main strip if your coming from the light. I have 2 photographs up that I have not had shown before. My new famous Chatham shot and a photo I took at Coney Island when I went there for the circus. They have good food and as well staff. This show is a group of photographers in the Columbia County Photo Club a mix of skills and subject matter. The theme of the show is colors.

Since one of my newest chatham photo blew up on Facebook, I decided to do a blog post about my view on this small town where I grew up. Chatham is where my story starts. I lived in Chatham for about 16 years and went to HS there. My grandparents used to live a few streets away and I spend a lot of time there as well. There were 3 houses next to mine and 2 of the houses had kids around my age and we were all good friends. My one neighbor friend would hang out all the time he was around my age. All us kids would get together and play games and hang out event went to each others parties. This town has helped form me into who I am today. From biking around town to hanging out with friends. Theres a lot I can tell you about this small town but It would be to long of a blog post and all the memories of this small amazing town.
I have family history in this small town America. There used to be a store before I was born called Delsons, Think of it as the Walmart of its time. When ever I meet someone and they seem like they are from around here,"I ask do you remember Delsons" and if they say YES, I say thats my family's store. People have told me all there memories of the store. I have seen photos as well of what it used to be. People have told me stores about working in the store, about the toy room down stairs and so much more. "If we don't have it, you don't need it"
This town is very historical because of its history with trains and the buildings in and around the town. This town also has a video store that still is alive and the whole front room is VHS tapes. There is also a 1 screen movie theater. Chatham is also know for having the yearly Columbia County Fair.

Rumor has it there was 4-5000 people at the march this year. It's crazy to see a small comunity of people with that big of a group to come together under one main purpose. Lots of creative signs and people of all kind and ages.
First Fun Day of 2018
Today I got a text from one of my good photography friends who I have not hung out with in a while. He wanted to hang out and go to a park. So we thought that the bird sanctuary would not be plowed well since of the location of where it is. But in fact it was nicely done. Before we headed in the direction we walked around town and talked and had lunch. On our way to the park he showed me a cool spot I wanted to go to, a small car grave which was pretty cool. Then we went to the bird sanctuary ( one of my favorite places). I showed him the pond which is behind the parking lot and then we went to the look out. He brought his drone and I took some photos. It was cool to see that spot from the air and cool to watch how drones work and such. He wanted to fly the drone and get some clips of the pond, so we walked back over there . As we were walking over to the spot to put are bags down. I thought lets see if you can walk on the pond not worrying about the fact that it could crack .Josh was the smart one and stayed on top as i walked on the pond. "Zach jump" I did and it did not crack at all. The pond must have been deeply frozen and a thick layer of snow. He wanted to get a shot for his website ( click here) and I thought of the idea of me running out on the pond as the drone followed me for a cool video. I had a good time because of the fact I never been on a frozen pond before and going up to things that could only be taken with a zoom lens. After we had our fun there we went back to my house and he let me fly the drone and take some photos and practice for when I get a drone.

What are your photography goals for 2018?
I have a few things I want to do that I have in my head and that I have wanted to do for some time now that I would love to do this year. I also want to make more with my photos such as books and prints. I want to have shows in diffrent places this year. Work with more people as well as meeting other photographers around the area. Those are some of the bigger photography goals I want to do this year.
What are your life goals for 2018?
I want to be a go and hike more then last year and explore and fine new and cool places. Bettering who I am as a person and learning to relax more when I get nervous. Learning and growing more and diffrent skills is something else I want to do as well. Finding people to do things with and making new connections. Those are just some of the goals I would like to work on this year.
