Volunteer

Recently I have volunteered my time at the Kinderhook Library for there Kinderhook walks. The walks are a guided tour to historical sites in the town of Kinderhook. My job is holding the gimbal with the phone and mic which  is being lived streamed on the Facebook page. Its fun for me because I get to learn about how to use a gimbal and more about live streaming video. The reason its live streamed is because for the people who can't walk with the tour and the people who are no longer in the area but are still interested in learning about the area. Its interesting learning about history in a small town that is close by. There will be more hopefully.

I do like helping out the community and getting to know people. Not everything has to do with being paid sometimes its good to network and or trade skills. Also its good to give back to people.

Hike #12

Delmar ny - Five rivers is a big and cool place if your into nature and wildlife. There is the public learning center where you can see real stuffed animals and live small animals and learn about Five rivers. Dad and I had to do a delivery in the area so we stopped here because my dad worked there many years ago before it was so big as you see today. It was very hot so we just walked around Beaver Pond.

Around Beaver Pond there are a few look out areas that are over the water and a few bridges to walk over the pond. As we were walking we saw a blue heron and a few turtles and fish. It is a cool place to go, its about an hour away.

Leaf Portraits

Before I tell you about this project I want to talk about my photographs recently. I am know for doing a lot of Black and White photographs but as you can see my last project, hiking and this project are in color. With picking to edit a photograph in black and white can give you a diffrent story and feel.

This project just came to me one day, there is no real back story. I went to go outside and photograph things like I normally would. I then remembered we had a light box for tracing with that has not been open. Thats where the idea kinda came from, I tried with a few leaves. Then once I saw how the photos came out, I went around the whole yard and up and down the road picking leaves. Drove around a little as well finding leaves that look interesting to the eye. My favorite leaves are the ones that look like they have a disease or dying. Seeing the details in the leaves is also pretty interesting, seeing how nature works.  As I was looking at the images I was thinking how cool it would be in a healthy restaurant.  My dad really liked how the photos came out and wanted me to get a bunch printed for my new show in his store, since my show has been up for well over a year. Hope you go and see the show at my dads store.

The show will be up for a while, come and check it out.

Behind The Scenes

Last night I was asked to come and watch and take photos of a film being made. It was cool to see how a production crew works together to make stuff happen, an up close experience of a film. The scene that was being made was a fight scenes, so it was cool to see how that all works and the planning and making sure it all goes well. Shooting BTS as its called was something on the list of things I want to shoot and it was accomplished last night, hopefully there are more opportunities like this one soon it was fun. The Production team is AMCREATIVE NYC.

These are just a few of the shots.

AfterNoon Walk

I had a meeting with someone and then we went to Kingston to do a downtown mural walk. Finding all the murals on the map. Here are the photos I took while in Kingston  walking around. To me Kingston feels like a mini NYC because of the streets, graffiti and also the restaurants and shops. It was fun trying to find the art work. The lips on top of the building were the hardest to find because you have to look up to find them and there on the side of the building not out in front. One of the photos is also interesting to point out because it says "storm photo" that made me think of that lightning shot I took.

Heres is a link to the tour map.
