Came across this sign as I was driving around exploring, there is no parking lot just a pull over spot. The Freund sanctuary is a walk in the woods type park in Old Chatham. I did not walk far in but walked a good amount, the trails are marked by a white and blue diamond/square. Also I can tell a lot of horses use the trail so watch your step. Its a pretty flat trail for the most part, a few roots and rocks and a muddy stream but if your looking to just walk in the woods and enjoy nature then this is a good spot to go and check out.

This I am making it 2 parts since they are close together and they both have trails.
Years ago in grade school I remember going here with my class and have not gone back since now. There is a one room school house which what I remember hearing was that it was originally down the road some where but the house has always been there. There are trails in the back on the main house.
The Martin Van Buren house is full of trails, some that go around the property and also on the other side of the street there are more trails. I just did some of the back of the house trail. It was not open when I stoped by but could freely walk around the property and and the trails are open. there are signs with information on them all over the place to give your self your own tour and learn more about the history on the house and land.
