Won Dharma Center in Claverack, NY is a meditation retreat with a lot of land you can explore. There is one big trail that takes you around the proporty. There are some great views when you are hiking up the first path. It was very cool to see what great views there are around here. A lot of it is open fields.
When you walk to the buildings they are so cool. The architecture is amazing. This was my first time here. It’s definitely a good place to go hiking since its a long trail.
FDR’s house and museum in Hyde Park NY. A heads up, you do need tickets to go into the museum and you buy those at the main building. In the main building they have a mosaic of the different buildings and historical sites near by. In the main building there is a cafe and a theater and some more info about him and the property and a gift shop. We did not go into his house we just did the museum.
There is a garden around where him and his wife and dog are. There are a few buildings on the proporty. Also The museum its self is pretty cool because it takes you through his life. My favorite part of the museum was his desk and the achieve room.

He has shown his work widely in Europe and the United States, and is represented in the permanent collections of a number of museums and public galleries
He had his first exhibitions in China in 2015.
Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park NY. I have been here a few times but this time we took a tour and walked most of the grounds. There are views of the Hudson river. The guest house is where you can buy tickets to go into the house with a guided tour. Also in the guest house there is a gift shop. From the guest house you can walk to the main house and to the gardens.
Inside you get to see some of the rooms and how they would have looked. When I went you could not go to the 3rd floor because it was hot. Before you leave there is a spot you can pull over called the over look, great view of the land and the river.
